Why attend Mining Forum Australia

Three days.One meeting place.No gatekeepers.

The first Mining Forum Australia brings to Sydney the format Denver Gold Group has run in the Americas since 1989 and in Europe for more than two decades: concentrated days with the management of the sector's companies and the investors who finance them, run by an organiser with no position in any of it.

The sector in one place

Unmatched representation

The Mining Forums gather almost seven-eighths of the world's publicly traded gold and silver producers by production or reserves, alongside developers, explorers and royalty and streaming companies. No other event gives an investor as complete a view of the sector.

Invitation-only

Attendance is by invitation and qualification. Specialist mining investors, generalist institutions, private equity and hedge funds meet C-Suite representatives of the participating companies, so every conversation is with a decision-maker.

Global reach, local focus

Why Sydney

The ASX, Martin Place and the major banks and buy-side offices are all a short walk from the Hilton, and Melbourne's deep buy-side is a short flight away. Investors can join for a session, a day or the full programme.

An international room

Each forum draws investors and companies from every major mining jurisdiction, who come for the efficiency of seeing the sector in days rather than months.

Independent by design

No conflicts. Just the meeting.

Denver Gold Group is a not-for-profit industry association. It does not underwrite, broker, trade or publish research. The only thing it sells is a seat in the room, and the only thing it optimises is the quality of the meetings and the overall experience with the highest production values in the industry.

  • Companies present on merit. Participation is open to qualifying mining companies, whatever they mine. There is no banking relationship to earn a slot.
  • Investors choose their meetings. Institutional investors request the companies they want to see. The schedule is built from their choices.
  • The organiser has no position. DGG holds no stock, takes no fees on transactions and owes nothing to any sponsor's deal flow.
  • The same rules on three continents. The format that has run since 1989 is identical at every Mining Forum.

Ranked with the bulge bracket

The only non-bank event on Nasdaq's conference quality chart.

Nasdaq profiles the investors who attend every major basic materials conference by the assets they manage and the length of their investment horizon. Every other event on the chart is run by an investment bank. Mining Forum Americas is the exception, and it sits where issuers want to be: larger, longer-horizon capital.

Driven by 1x1 Meetings

Presentations open the door. 1x1 Meetings close the distance.

Every DGG forum runs on private meetings between C-Suite representatives from leading mining companies and qualified institutional investors complemented by family offices and high net worth individuals. Unlike nearly every other investment conference, those meetings are multilateral, unlimited and unmediated. That is how the leading mining investment forums in the world are built, and Sydney is no exception.

Multilateral

Any participant can request any other. Investors meet companies, companies meet investors, and both meet the sell-side. Nobody is confined to one bank's client list.

Unlimited

There is no cap on requests and no cap on meetings. The schedule fills as far as diaries allow, across every session, meal and break.

Unmediated

No banker in the room and no organiser choosing who meets whom. Requests go straight from one side to the other, and the answer comes straight back.

Proprietary to Denver Gold Group

The only mining event that measures what it returned to you.

Every other conference sends an invoice and a thank-you note. Denver Gold Group sends a score. The Relative Return on Event Investment tells each member company how efficiently its participation converted into investor engagement, shareholder representation, digital reach and market response.

  1. RME

    Relative Meeting Engagement

Size-adjusted 1x1 Meeting demand and conversion

  2. RSR

    Relative Shareholder Representation

Share of the register held by attending investors

  3. RWE

    Relative Webcast Engagement

    Size-adjusted webcast viewing minutes

  4. RMP

    Relative Market Performance

Event-week return in excess of the sector benchmark

1

Standardise. Each of the four indices is measured against the cohort of member companies at the same forum, with the cohort mean set at 100 and one standard deviation equal to 25 points. Meeting and webcast inputs are adjusted for company size first, so a major producer and a single-asset explorer are each judged on what they achieved at their scale.

2

Blend. The four indices combine into a weighted core score.

3

Adjust, within bounds. Four factors shift the core score by at most a bounded number of points to give the final RREI:

  • Travel distance
  • Home-currency movement
  • Event expenditure
  • Executive attendance

Member companies receive their RREI after every Mining Forum, on the same basis in the Americas, Europe and Australia. Every score is relative to the event cohort, transparent to the company it describes, and confidential to it.
